NaPoWriMo: Take Me

I present a little sketch for a poem. Barely even a first draft. A conglomeration of ideas and thoughts and pathologies.

Somewhat like my life.

TAKE ME

Take me as I am

Not as I purport to be

Let my tears trace the outlines of my failings

Take me fully

No half-arsed acceptance measures

Shake me until I stir

Take me away from all this

But bring it with you

So together we can sort through the baggage

Take me at my word

Let my verbal miasma wrap you

And the mist soften my edges

Take me out

Parade my authenticity

Before the howling naysayers

Take me home

Let me curl up on the hearth

Covered by love’s tattered blanket
