30 Poems in 30 Days: Day Ten. Dementia Cinquain

Caring for a parent

I have currently been running some wonderful training courses, in the area of dementia. Through this I have met some amazing people and heard some moving, and sometimes humorous, stories.

This little piece is my tribute to those unsung heroes who care, every day, for someone who is now a stranger, at least in part.

DEMENTIA CINQUAIN

Today

She went away

Further into her past

Skipping through her childhood, calling

“Daddy!”
